Humanitarian Relief to Prishtina University Hospital

James W. Hopkins, M.D., a Des Moines Pediatric Surgeon and his daughter, Charlotte J. Hopkins Shandley, M.D., a Pediatrician in the New York City area, traveled to Pristina, Kosovo sponsored by Kinderberg International Foundation, a humanitarian relief organization for children in crisis areas. The physicians spent two weeks in August 2002, on this Volunteer Medical Teaching Mission, participating in the Foundation's summer emergency Medicine Residency Lecture Program at Prishtina University and General Surgery Residency Education Programs and participated in pediatric surgical discussions and operative cases with the four Pediatric Surgeons at Prishtina University Hospital.
